Visiting International Professor

Greenwoods & Freehills is pleased to host a visiting Professor from Georgetown Law Center, Washington DC, Professor Stafford Smiley. Professor Smiley is a Professor in the Graduate Tax Program at Georgetown and a Member of the law firm of Caplin & Drysdale, Chartered. He specializes in the taxation of corporate and non-corporate business entities, intergenerational wealth planning and international transactions. He is also a Professor at the University of Lodz (Poland) and a Visiting Professor in graduate tax programs in Austria as well as Australia.

Professor Smiley will be teaching US International Taxation at Sydney Law School on 28 July - 3 August 2008. While in Australia Professor Smiley will also be talking in Sydney and Melbourne to the Australian branch of the International Fiscal Association. Greenwoods & Freehills has been a proud supporter of the Visiting International Professor Program for over fifteen years, an initiative which encourages tax education and discussion of international taxation issues with leading overseas professors and practitioners.
