Narelle McBride became a Senior Associate of Greenwoods & Freehills in June 2008. Immediately prior to this time Narelle was a Senior Associate of Shaddick & Spence. Narelle specialises in corporate acquisitions and disposals.

Industry Experience

Narelle has extensive experience in advising on consolidation, restructuring and distributions. As well as a solid foundation in corporate income tax, Narelle has also specialised in international tax, particularly in applying the CFC and FIF rules.

Aside from her considerable technical abilities, Narelle has a great capacity to undertake and complete tax forensic exercises, such as those involving consolidation, capital allowances, tax losses and foreign income. Additionally, Narelle has been involved in a number of submissions to the Australian Taxation Office in relation to the consolidation regime on behalf of various corporate clients.

Professional Background

Before joining Shaddick & Spence, Narelle spent five and a half years with Ernst & Young, where she was a Taxation Manager in the Corporate Tax/Tax Consulting team with a range of corporate clients but particularly including both public and private wine companies.
Narelle holds a Bachelor of Accounting degree from Monash University and is a fellow of the Tax Institute of Australia and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.
