Current Practice
Andrew is a senior associate with Greenwoods & Freehills Pty Ltd. He specialises in:
- listed property trusts and managed funds;
- internal restructures;
- mergers and acquisitions; and
- offshore investment, including the controlled foreign company (CFC) and foreign investment fund (FIF) regimes.
Industry Experience
Andrew’s experience includes advising:
- the Commonwealth in relation to the ‘T3’ sale of Telstra, including an application for a class ruling for the benefit of investors;
- Coles Group in relation to its ‘ownership review’ and eventual takeover by Wesfarmers;
- Centro Properties Group in relation to its 2007 Pro-rata Entitlement Offer including the tax consequences for investors;
- Centro Properties Group in relation to the establishment of Centro Australia Wholesale Fund (CAWF) and Centro Syndicate Investment Fund (CSIF);
- Centro Properties Group in relation to the merger of the Centro Retail Trust and the Centro America Shopping Fund;
- Airline Partners Australia in relation to the proposed acquisition of Qantas;
- the consortium led by Macquarie in relation to the acquisition of the Hobart Airport; and
- Pengana Capital in relation to the establishment of the Pengana Credo European Property Trust.
Professional Background
Andrew is a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria and has a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Melbourne. He is also a fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia.
