Current Practice

Kai Zhang became a Senior Associate of Greenwoods & Freehills in July 2009. Immediately prior to joining Greenwoods & Freehills Kai was an Associate of Shaddick & Spence. Kai specialises in corporate tax and international tax.

Industry Experience

Kai advises on a wide range of corporate tax and international tax issues, with a particular focus on large tax consolidation projects, multiple entry consolidated (MEC) groups, distributions and divestments. Kai has been extensively involved in a number of high profile public company take-overs.

Kai is regularly involved in Treasury/ATO submissions and discussions for his clients. Kai is also a regular author on corporate tax and international tax matters.

Professional Background

Kai has a bachelor degree in Economics and has completed masters in Accounting at Monash University. He is a fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.

Kai is currently undertaking his Juris Doctor degree at Monash University and Master of Tax at Melbourne University (both are due to be completed in 2010).

Kai speaks fluent Mandarin.
